Anonymous said: Sara! I love your work! Have you ever thought of recording an entire piece (start to finish) and uploading to YouTube as a speed painting? I know so many people would love to see your entire process :DD
Well thank you! I actually have thought about it, but the problem is I don’t work on something consistently enough to do so. A single piece can be scattered around in hour increments during a three week period, so I feel like it would be pretty difficult to make something that shows my process from start to finish like that. BUT, that doesn’t mean I won’t give it a shot one of these days.

Another update with some more sword concepts. I recently came into possession of some awesome arms and armor books, so I’m trying to do a lot more design work. I’m pleased to say that I’m enjoying it and learning quite a bit. More updates to come, so stay tuned!
Some of you may have caught the Livestream of this piece a week ago. I really worked on this one to get it into my portfolio before I graduated, and I just managed to squeeze it in there in time. I loosely referenced a bit of Hindu mythology and took my own spin on it. These are what are known as Yakshini, which I believe in America is the equivalent of a djinn or genie. If you’d like to read more, feel free to check out the Wikipedia article below.
Thanks for looking!

Remember this? So, I’ve learned some awesome news today. A couple of weeks ago I found out that one of my pieces was chosen to be in Spectrum 19, and this just happened to be the one they chose! I’m really excited to have my work published in such a respectable book with other reputable artists (almost all of which have been my idols for years).
It’s still really hard to believe that my work will be featured in a book I used to pore over in awe and fascination. Thanks to everyone who has supported my work thus far, I couldn’t have possibly done it without the encouragement of my friends and family.
Spectrum 19 will be available this fall, so definitely go out and pick up a copy and look at some killer work!
I’m really happy to be sharing this with everyone. Lately I’ve been collaborating on a project with my brother for his senior film thesis. He’s producing a ten minute short and so naturally I opted to do the promotional pieces for his project. While his website isn’t up yet and the film won’t be uploaded until around May, I just wanted to give everyone a teaser and encourage all of my followers and friends to head on over to his Vimeo site and check out some of the other work he’s doing until the film is up.
I’ll be updating in the coming month with a link to the actual video, so stay tuned!
