A couple of updates; in an effort to post more, I’m going to attempt to post more wips and sketches. The hard part about this for me is that I’m a perfectionist, and usually allowing others to see my work before I’m okay with it is tough for me. It is also hard because I rarely do sketches (I know that’s bad, I can hear the wave of criticism descending as I type this).
This past weekend I had an art sale at my school. I’ve officially made the merchandise I was selling now available online through my Etsy site, which includes stickers and prints of my most recent work. You should all go take a look and get someone you know (or yourself) some really rad Christmas presents.
And, because the last few weeks have been finals for me, I’ve not been doing my livestreaming. But, this coming Sunday I’ll be doing a Livestream at the usual time, 10 pm EST. I’ll be working on a newer piece that can hopefully dig a little deeper into my processes for those of you that are curious. Hope to see all of you there!
This is a piece I’ve been working off and on for a while now. I finished it a few weeks ago, but only now managed to get it posted.
These are wolves that live in the desert hunting down a traveler. If you ask me, it doesn’t look like she’s got much of a chance.

Anonymous said: The only reason you are decent at art is because your parents support you and you don't have to work a part time job while schooling.
Actually, I do work a part time job and my parents don’t pay for my schooling, I do.
And it’s not schooling that makes a decent artist- it’s dedication, hard work, and talent. I have known countless students to go through the same program as me and not get any better. My school does not teach digital painting. Every piece you see on this Tumblr is from my own self-teaching and hard work.
If you aren’t decent at art, that’s not my problem, but honestly, you shouldn’t go hating on others.

Another personal piece. I was inspired by this video on pink light: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9dqJRyk0YM
Also, as a side note, I’ve updated my copyright signature to something a little less intrusive. I’ll be posting a few more projects in the coming week. Hope everyone has a great holiday!
For those of you that missed it, I worked on two separate paintings tonight and answered a lot of questions about illustration. I had a great time talking to all of you that stuck around. Thanks for coming to watch!
Livestreaming every Sunday at 10 pm EST.
This was done for a project for school. I wanted to do a few book covers, and one of my newest obsessions is A Song of Fire and Ice. I did two book covers, one with the iconic Jon Snow, and another with my interpretation of a Whitewalker (or Other for the book nerds). Since I am also a fan of the new HBO series, I wanted to incorporate faces from the actual show into my designs as a ploy to get more non-readers interested in the books.
These two book covers were created for a book that has yet to be released, The Winds of Winter. Both of these were meant for the paperback versions of the book as a ‘Collector’s Edition’ that would give the buyer the option of choosing whichever cover they wanted - or both, if they felt so inclined. I loved doing these and I plan to do more A Song of Fire and Ice fanart in the future!

So, if you watched me Livestream last night, then you saw me working on this piece. It was originally meant to be just a sketch I was going to use to do for a midterm for a drawing class, but I liked the sketch so much I decided to take it further.
I’ve been struggling lately with subject material, and have honestly been doing a lot of stuff to make other people happy and not myself. So, this piece sort of cured that stigmata- at least I hope! I had so much fun doing it, and a lot of fun talking to the people who watched my Livestream.
I’ll attempt to do a new Livestream every Sunday @ 10 pm EST, so you should drop by and say hello and watch me paint. If you’d like to see the video of this one, it’s on my Livestream channel.
